Managing Up – What Every Nonprofit Employee
Needs to Know about Working Effectively with their Supervisors

Nonprofit organizations are often most successful when they create an environment that promotes leadership among every level of employee. For younger generations within the workforce, a big part learning to be a leader involves developing the art of “managing up”. Managing up involves a variety skills, such as building strong relationships in a way that doesn’t compromise values or involve being adversely confrontational.

Learn how this skill set can help you increase your productivity and reduce your stress level at work. Explore several personality tools that will help you to get to know your supervisors and yourself better, learn how to flex your personal work style and identify strategies for success.

Join YNPNdc for a workshop on managing up on December 13th at the Center for Nonprofit Advancement (CNA). Presenters will include Susan Sanow, Deputy Executive Director for Programs at CNA and Dan Poux, Associate Director, Science & Technology Policy Fellowships at the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Refund Policy: Registration costs to a YNPNdc event are fully refundable up to one week before the event. Within one week, up to 24 hours before the event, registration costs are 50% refundable. Registration costs are non-refundable less than 24 hours before the event.
